I purchased this generator for occasional emergency use. as stated in another review it doesn’t come with a wheel kit and weighs about 100lbs. however, the manual that comes with gives detailed instructions on how to install the wheel kit (that doesn’t come with it). I tried contacting Eastern Tools & Equipment, first by phone and got disconnected twice. then I tried to email them — never got any answer. tried that twice. also, from Eastern Tools & Equipment website, I tried to register my generator for warranty. this produced an error message with my browser – several times. I then tried to call again. when I mentioned I didn’t get the wheel kit, I was told it didn’t come with one. I mentioned I thought that was quite odd as there were instructions to install the wheel kit in the manual. I was told it must be a misprint. I told them that seemed to be a rather large misprint, when almost an entire page is used in the manual giving detailed instructions of how to install the wheel kit. (including stating not to put oil into the generator until you install the wheel kit – the real reason I never got around to trying out my new generator.) at that, the representative raised his voice saying, “Sir, I’m telling you it doesn’t come with a wheel kit.” as there were other issues I had not begun to address and this small one causing such difficulty, I have decided to return the generator and hopefully find a comparable one for a decent price. don’t expect to get any customer service from Eastern Tools & Equipment if you purchase one of these and have any problems!

I was wondering what would be required to let this unit use natural gas to run. Seems like that would be a big plus.

was delivered late. I took this unit to the carribbean. It was delivered from Pa. to Ct. The delivery company sent it to NYC, then screwed up by sending it south to their Philadelphia hub, then to Ct. (destination), delaying my flight and costing me $342. for a new ticket. The unit ships WITHOUT OIL in the crankcase, so it won’t start til you fill with oil as it has a sensor in the engine. It works like a charm.

  5. We had experienced an power outage a couple of years ago that lasted two days and we used the generator in our motorhome to power some of the needed appliances in our house. After selling the motor home we started looking for a emergency generator for the house. One of the things that bothered me about a portable generator was storing gasoline for long periods of time. I goes bad after a year.

When I found this propane powered generator I knew it was something we could use.

It took Amazon longer than expected to get it shipped to me, I don’t think they stock them in thier warehouse. But order from manufacture. Takes longer.

After a lengthy period of attempted starts, (I think it just needed primed) it starts now on the first or second pull. It is quiet and seems to run great. I start it every 15 days and run with small load for about 10 min.

I added my own home built wheel kit as it comes without wheels and is a little hard to move around with out wheels.

It appears to be well built and well worth the price. There are not many generators out there for price of this one.

I only gave it 4 stars because I have not had a chance to use the item as designed yet.
