Does anyone else hate the lighting from the energy efficient bulbs?

    yes and i believe they are dangerous to dispose of at the end of life

    Yes. I don’t like white lights, I like the soft yellow lights. I put them in and now I feel like I’m in a dr office or something, not a home. It’s way too bright, especially to look at directly.

    They make the bulbs in different light colors now, so if you have some that are annoying, check the newer ones.

    I, too, do not like those new energy efficient light bulbs. First of all, they are packed so tightly in that molded plastic, you have to be a surgeon to get them out without breaking them. And, I have already broken two bulbs before even getting the chance to use them. Now, I am stuck on where to dispose of the poisonous mercury bulbs while I am storing them in a zip lock bag. UGH.
    So, I use the regular bulbs for reading and the energy efficient bulbs in lights that are frequently used, just to save energy, not because I like that weird light they give off. So, I am with you, I don’t like the new bulbs one bit.

    Yes. And the new LED based types are often even worse.

    But if you use them inside a lamp that has a certain color, they can be just as nice as any other bulb. You really have to see where you want to use them.
