I called iRobot today to complain that my 11 month old battery failed, and they actually told me that the batteries don’t last any longer than that. I asked if I would expect to have to replace the battery at least once a year, and they said yes. I would not buy another Roomba until this situation improves. Beware.

This battery was just what my roomba needed. My roomba stoped working and I was hoping that it was just the battery and fortunately it was. This battery holds a great charge and works like a champ.

The battery I ordered for my IRobot vacuum was delivered exactly on time in good condition.

I bought the replacement batteries (without the housing) here is what happened:
1. The replacement battery pack info was misleading – it was extremely hard to open open the iRobot battery – and even then, the edges were so rough that the cover would not be tight.
2. The replacement battery group has to be soldered in – the margin for error is very small – if not done very precisely, the batteries will not fit in the slot.
This may be o.k. if you are an electrician – certainly not for the average person. In sum, it was a total waste of money and I wound up having to buy an iRobot 4905 replacement unit ( $ 20 more) but at least it works.

iRobot 4905 Battery
Ordered a replacement battery for our Roomba robotic floor cleaner and was advised, by the manufacturer, that they are “on back order.” Did a little surfin and low-and-behold, I found a vendor offering the same battery FOR LESS $$$. Placed the order and the battery arrived very promptly. Boy, I’m glad the manufacturer was out of stock on this item.
