I liked this heater a lot, I bought it 3 months ago for our bedroom, the coldest room in the house. It sparked the day before yesterday due to no fault on my part. So needless to say, its in the back yard now.. However I called and sunbeam (jarden)was more than happy to help me and they are sending a different model to me next week and I must send the original back. I paid $44 for this heater.

In the winter, I needed a heater to warm my bedroom, as it is the coldest room in my house due to my central heater not distributing heat evenly. And after turning on this heater, my room is warmed in 10-15 minutes with the door closed. There is a thermostat on the heater that allows you to put it the hottest it can go or just warm. There are also two heater modes which use different amounts of watts depending on which you prefer. This heater is rather noisy, however, which is why I took of a point. Overall, this buy has been worthwhile, and I would recommend it as a heater to heat a small-medium room.

When I first got this heater it worked fine but after the 3rd day I started detecting a smell of burning rubber from the unit. This heater will only heat the area it is pointed towards and with minimal range of 2 feet I would say if on the low settings but on the highest settings it will do a better job but I wasn’t satisfied with its performance when compared to a lower priced heater I have.
I read that these types of heaters don’t really heat up the air. Instead the they emit a infrared light at a certain frequency that will heat us up and objects like wood. I do believe that a 15 dollar fan forced heater I had did a better job of heating my room.
I returned this unit and I will go for a ceramic heater instead. This Quartz heater is noisy enough to startle you a bit when it turns on and off. I didn’t get used to the noise when it started in the 3 days I had it. It lights up the whole room at night with its orange glow. Some people who are sensitive to light will not like it. i didn’t think it was worth the money. Spend your money elsewhere.I may have just got a defective unit but I think there are better options out there.
