What type of energy does a person produce?

Now, I know there are some types of energy, like electromagnetic, electrical, thermal, but if I was to crank a handle what type of energy would I be using/producing?
Thanks if you answer this, it is for a science project.
Well what type of energy would we use to shake a hand?

  1. Jim says:

We produce a lot of different types of energy.

Chemical energy is used by the cells in the form of ATP. We produce thermal energy (heat), etc.

So, there isn’t really one answer to your question. The body is a rather complex machine and it produces and uses a whole variety of different forms of energy.

    Well…
    -person running= kinetic energy
    -cells working= chemical energy
    -human body’s metabolism= thermal energy
-we all give off some type of electromagnetic energy as well as a little bit of electric energy (sharks can use this kind of energy from us to track us down)
-if we are standing still about to run= potential energy

now if you are cranking a handle on something, then you are enforcing kinetic energy, but all the same time using all those other energies I used even though you can’t see them with your naked eye.
