We have a new furnace with heat pump and compressor.
In winter, it heats up the house.
In summer, it cools the house.
Does it consume more energy heating up or cooling the house?

It seems that a large sum of money is going to government agencies. I am curious to know:
1) To what extent is the stimulus making our bureaucracy more efficient?
2) As a result of the efficiency, how much money are we expected to save?
Is it more cost efficient to have an electric hot water heater compared to a gas water heater?
